We further narrowed down out list of potential teachers for First Year Studies next year. We discussed whether each department should select from our list who they nominate for FYS, or if we should just decide for them.
We met with the director of the Graduate Studies program to talk about overlaps between the grad and undergrad programs. We discussed issues of “bottlenecking” that happens with some undergraduate Intermediate/Advanced courses that are open to graduate students as well. We talked about goals and how to mutually plan courses of study in the future so the needs of all programs can be met with limited over-extension from either side.
We also discussed curricular planning for the social sciences department for the Spring semester.
