This week we met with Karen Lawrence to continue discussion on curricular planning in the long and short term. I’m sorry that I can’t go into further details as much of this meeting was confidential.
What I can share: Working with numbers from various offices, we can logistically proceed with 2 of the 5 new faculty tenure-track position searches in this academic year. Hiring for tenure track positions is costly (as opposed to hiring guest faculty) but filling these positions is of utmost priority and we have to choose which 2 of the 5 to proceed with for this year.
The tracks are Microbiology, Psychology, Chemistry, Political Science, and Science, Technology & Society (STS).
There are many determining factors in deciding which searches will be carried out, but if any students have input, please feel free to e-mail me and I will bring your thoughts to the Committee.
